Simplicity & Beauty in this Chic High Gloss Magma Kitchen

February 22nd, 2011

I have often said, most recently in our kitchen trends guide for 2011, that we are seeing more colours being used in kitchen design.

And when I saw this kitchen from Kube Kitchens in Dublin, I instantly thought this is exactly what I was talking about.  It’s subtle, yet a break from the norm.

Kube Chic Terra

Kube Kitchens recently fitted this stunning kitchen for a client and it goes to show that sometimes a high end look doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

Called the Kube Chic Terra, this high gloss kitchen was finished off with a silver laminate worksurface that gives off a cool crisp feel while matching perfectly with the cabinet colour.  The bi-fold glass doors also add a contemporary feel and the raised breakfast bar makes it a social kitchen to be enjoyed with family and friends.

Kube offer German designer kitchens with the average kitchen costing €4,900.  You can contact them at info@kubeinteriors.ie or visit their website at www.kubekitchens.ie.  You can also visit their profile page on Kitchenindex.ie at http://www.kitchenindex.ie/retail/category-1/Fitted-Kitchens-and-Bedrooms.aspx/listing-868/Kube-Kitchens

What Type of Pans Should You Use on Induction Hobs?

February 21st, 2011

I came across this short video on YouTube which was released by Bosch Appliances in the UK.

If you are wondering what type of pans and cookware you should use on an induction hob then this might explain it for you.  In order for your induction hob to work, a specific type of base is needed on your pans.

La Cornue Grand Maman Cooker – Spectacular Kitchen Range

January 4th, 2011

I came across this kitchen range cooker from La Cornue and immediately thought “what a fabulous colour”  The cooker in question is the La Cornue Grand Maman 90 in this striking blue, part of the Cornuchef range from the French maker.

The Grand Maman comes with a spectacular 84 litre vaulted oven in gas or electric and a stainless steel hob equipped with five 3.5 kw burners. The burners are available either in a combination of gas and electric, or all electric.

With its contemporary, sober and distinctive appearance, and its large snail oven handle, the Cornuchef will easily adapt to all styles of kitchen and form a perpetually fashionable centrepiece. La Cornue offers a choice of 24 colours for your Cornuchef and its extractor hood, as always to be complemented by stainless steel or solid brass.

When I saw this beautiful blue colour, I immediately thought how fabulous it would look with an off-white or cream painted kitchen.

I think both colours would complement each other perfectly while keeping the range cooker as the focal point in the room. Imagine all the WOWs when your friends came to see your newly installed kitchen with a La Cornue as the centrepiece.

More information on LaCornue cookers and the Grand Maman can be found at www.lacornue.com
