Kitchens - Hot Trends in 2010

So you are thinking of a new kitchen.  But when it comes to kitchens, what are the hottest trends in 2010?

Whether you like a contemporary kitchen, classical kitchen, modern kitchen or traditional bespoke kitchen, we cover the trends that will ensure your home is up-to-date with the hottest new kitchen.

Kitchens this year are all about warmth.  It seems that in the current climate, people want a kitchen that provides a feeling of comfort so we are seeing a lot of warm shades, especially in contemporary and modern designs.  While we still see a lot of white or off-white kitchens, especially for painted kitchens, you will notice that they are often accompanied with darker timbers to add contrast whether it being a two tone kitchen or a splash of warmth in the worktops.

Here is the Kitchenindex.ie guide to kitchen trends in Ireland for 2010!

Classic Kitchens

Painted kitchens are still very much in vogue.  This painted kitchen is coupled with black granite worktops with a small section of timber on the island.  The  overmantle surround over the cooker is the main feature.   This Farmleigh oak kitchen again from Springhill is coupled with a painted island unit to offer a contrast.  A very simple kitchen design yet very inviting.  This design is typical of the classic kitchen trend this year.

Bespoke Kitchens
